The latest freebie from Sketi is upon us and this time he takes on the mighty Chemical Brothers. Sketi lays down a funky, mid tempo remix of the classic track Block Rockin Beats. Keeping the original very much intact he adds some infectiously grooving drums and subtle lead to give this a fresh makeover for 2012.
As more and more people get into the fast growing future jungle movement, more tracks are appearing from the Soundcloud community. This little gem comes courtesy of Rolling Paper who breaks out this funky amen workout complete with a wicked flute line, horn stabs and slick percussion. Check out more HERE.
Spaced out, disco boogie comes to mind when listening to Benji's new one. What ever the genre, its a quality remix and only available for a limited period so get on it pronto.

Dave 'Mr No Hands' is giving out the downloads on all his releases (plus the remixes) on Diverted Traffic. There are some real gems amongst this lot including the monstrous collaboration with the Bassbin Twins which ended up in pretty much everybody's sets back in 2007 due to the incessant, fuzzy electro bassline and thumping beats. This one grabbed tune of the month in most of the dance mag's at the time too. Everything else is definitely worth your attention too so check them all out and make sure you leave some comments.
Duane Barry's Digital Sensation label has been releasing some amazing breakbeat tracks over the last few years and are know about to give away the downloads on nearly every track in the back catalogue. This is not the end of the label as some may think but more of a celebration on what they have achieved. Below Duane explains why.
"Back in the summer of 2009 whilst recording my Cosmic Refractions show, I pondered the idea of starting a label. It wasn’t a new idea, there are were/are lots of labels however I had aspirations of a humble label as a means to share the melodic breaks I love with the world. Imagine my thanks when since then, we’ve had over 70 artists, 30 releases, 80 tracks in the Beatport Top 100 charts, 5 Trackitdown #1 singles, airplay on Radio 1 & Kiss FM, reviews in all the major music publications and a Breakspoll nomination.
I find it difficult to express how thankful I am for all the support shown by everyone in the breaks world, specifically the fans that buy our music and allow us to keep doing what we love. So with that in mind, we’re pleased to present the DSUK Giveaway!
Over the next 6 weeks, we will be sharing for FREE pretty much all of the back catalogue from our first 10 releases. Not bonus tracks, not tracks that didn’t quite make the cut, not shitty quality mp3s – the actual retail releases. This incorporates one of more tracks from the following artists: Duane Barry/The Emissary/Phrakture/Monojoke/Oleg Zubkov/Helbot/T.R.O./Llupa/Elfsong/Aeron Aether/East Café/UnderThis/Mesmer/Breaking News/Future Perfect/Fletric/Retroid/Quadrat Beat/Ghettface/EK/Parallax Breakz/M_Spark /Journeyman & BARRcode – phew!
Each track has been assigned a number and every week we’ll be asking one of the artists above to pick 5 numbers at random. These 5 tracks will then be available to download for free forever. Also, if the artist picks out their own track, we’ll release an additional track! These will be released on SoundCloud where we have unlimited downloads so please feel free to post on any blogs, play in any sets and share with as many friends as you like with our compliments!
We’re not closing down or anything, we just think it’s a waste for these tracks to be sat in the stores gathering digital dust when everyone could enjoy them. If you originally bought any of these tracks when they were first released we appreciate it! And we hope you find some hidden gems in amongst our selections in the upcoming weeks.
Finally, please allow me to again express my thanks to everyone involved in the breaks world for their support of DSUK, especially in the beginning it means so much to us and we’re looking forward to continuing to bring you the best in progressive and melodic breaks!
"One of Ground Level's new signings for 2012 Joe C delivers his unique brand of funk laced breaks on his début single Skunky!
Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Joe has been DJing in and around his home city, making edits and original beats for his DJ sets. Some of these edits came to the attention of Ground Level and brought our attention to Joe. After hearing Skunky we knew the hunch was right, if you need something super funky to warm up the dancefloor you need look no further!
Rebel Sketchy, after three releases on Ground Level last year, supplied the remix, taking it to a deeper and darker place, which builds and builds, perfect for the peak time late night crowd!"
Also this week the first Ground Level Podcast has gone live on iTunes,They’re aiming to make this a monthly look at all that’s hot in breaks and bass. This one features tracks from Rebel Sketchy, Stanton Warriors, Zinc, Datadex, Curtis B, Joe C, Poxy Music and DJ Hero, amongst others. It can be grabbed or subscribed to here - http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/ground-level-podcast/id503911944
